"Hello to all, this is my first post.
I have owned this motor since new and it has 95 hrs on it.It has never given me any probs until about a month ago.It started fine and would run no probs until i got over 4000-4500 rpm.It would then cut out,if I was quick enough to pull the revs back, then it would run all day.I used it today and it did the same thing.I shifted about 4 times fishing then went to start and it would spin over fine but no start. The fuel bulb was hard and all the fuel connections looked fine with no leaks. After about 5 mins I got it going by just touching the starter and letting the key back (if that makes sense ?)It played up a few more times and I started it the same way,but on the trip home (about 15 mins) I tried to get it to play up but it ran fine, even over 5000 rpm.My problem is that I have no confidence in it until I fix the prob.I am not sure if I am looking for An electrical or fuel prob.

Any ideas would be appreciated"

are u disc fuel line and trying to run dry w/vro connected?...when was it last tuned up and de-carbed?...carbs/linkage and synchronization between carbs and ign good?..timer base moving fully to its stop?

"are u disc fuel line and tryi

"are u disc fuel line and trying to run dry w/vro connected?... I am not sure what you mean by this?
The system is running oil tank and fuel tank.
When eng.would not start I got a mate to hold fuel bulb tight, but it made no difference.
I haven't checked compression and it has never been de-carbed.Spark jumps a good 7/16 timer base moves freely and to it's stop.
Fuel delivery is something that I haven't checked. Is this easy to do ?
Thank you for your reply."

"ur eng has the blk plastic fu

"ur eng has the blk plastic fuel conn on end of fuel line,to conn to eng,right?....if u have been disc this, and 'running dry' the system,u potentially fill/or add a lot of oil to carbs, fuel lines etc, causing a very hard start as well as a smoky one...
fuel delivery, encompasses everything fr fuel tank thru carbs.,..pull a dr plug from bottom of carb bowls,if its brown covered, they need to be cleaned and rebuilt."

OK I will check this tomorrow

OK I will check this tomorrow and see what I find
I was also going to replace the complete fuel line as it is original.
