"Hi I have just bought this motor and it has a 5 blade high performace prop on it but I have a 19ft deep V fishing boat with a pod on it and I was wondering if this is going to be ok or should I change to a 3 blade and If so what diameter and pitch i should go to? The baot probably wieghs around 3000 pounds I"d say not really sure. Any help would be great. Thanks, Ryan"

"I would go for a 3 blade prop

"I would go for a 3 blade prop and you will need a 17 or 19 pitch...if you can borrow one and check what revs you obtain flat out, you want 5500 rpm's"

"How are you using the boat? A 5 blade looks "really cool" but the term "high performance" and 5 blade kinda don't go together.

Great prop if you are pulling a skier, tube or water toy, if the pitch is matched to your rig of course, but you lose a noticable bit of your top end speed over a 3 blade.

As Jamie suggests, for a fishing rig the 3 blade would be your first choice."

The motor came off of a 19 foo

The motor came off of a 19 foot Calais and I'm thinking it was primarily used as a ski type boat. I do lot's of fishing and cruising from spot to spot with at times 4 people on board. I want a prop that will get me out of the hole fairly easy and still maintain a good top speed. So the 3 blade is probably the way to go?

Thanks

Yes mate go with the three bla

Yes mate go with the three blade prop it doesnt look as cool as a 5 blader but will perform better for what you want to do.
