1989 Mercury 35hp not peeing

Well I just replaced the entire water pump housing as I didn't like the look of it. The impeller was still in once piece but that was replaced as well. It's all back together and I'm still not getting any water out of it. I removed the entire hose off the side of the block and there's no water coming out of that either. I'm at a loss here, any suggestions would be great! I really don't want to have to bring it to a shop if I don't have to.
