I have a couple of questions a

I have a couple of questions about my engine.
1) What is the proper idle speed for this motor? I ask this because it doesn't always want to idle and will just stall.
I think that question one is related to this but here goes.
2) The engine seems to run hot the alarm doesn't go off but I get steam out of the bleed off on the back of the engine cover. I have replaced the water pump and thermostats and at speed above 1500 rpms it is a constant stream. The water pressure is anywhere from 5-8 lbs. at that time. although at idle it will steam or surge water intermittently. Can any one point me in the right direction here????

Your tell tail is influenced b

Your tell tail is influenced by the thermostats opening and closing The engine is designed to run very hot at idle to burn up extra fuel from puddling and as the revs go up the poppet valve located on stb side of block opens ands allows cold water to circulate through the engine

"So, this is normal? I didn't notice this before it just used to stream out when it was up to temp. I just don't want to cook the motor...."
