1989 Mariner 45 hp question

Does the 1989 4 cyl 45hp Mariner have a Mercury twin? If not are any of the parts interchangeable? From what I can tell from my limited research it appears parts for Mercs and Mariners of that era are not as generally available as OMC parts. Is that true?

The only differences between the two are the decals and paint colour.
Parts are generally plentiful and there are plenty outboard breakers .

Are factory service manuals available? Searching the web all I have been able to find is aftermarket manuals.

They are. Any that I have I got off fleecebay. I believe a main Mercury dealer would be able to help or here

T talked to a Merc dealer yesterday and he said factory manuals for motors that old are no longer available. I am waiting for a reply from an Ebay seller who has manuals for a wide variety of Merc models on CD who is looking into it.
