1989 Johnson GT150 - Warning Horn

Good evening, I have a 1989 Johnson GT150 (J150STLCEM) and I noticed my warning horn is sounding. On for about 3 seconds and then off, repeats. Thought it was low oil, as I've had that before, but that's short bursts of the horn. Oil reservoir is full. Horn stops when I turn engine off. I'll let it sit for 5-15 min. start it back up and after about 5-10 min. I get the horn for 3 secs, then goes off, repeats. Water pressure is fine, spitting out water fine. Been running fuel conditioner and 93 octane ethanol free gas. So, yesterday I did run it wide open throttle (really don't do that as much as I should, fishing hole is close :)) for about 10-min, no horn. A hour of so later, the horn started. As always any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks racerone for the quick reply. I have the service manual for the motor, now, I'm not a mechanically inclined kind of guy and I've looked thru it. Would you be able to help me understand what you're saying with 'fuel restriction'? The engine sounds great when running. I do notice oil being consumed. Hoping my boat guy will be able to fit me in before he heads south the Winter and any parts, if needed, to be replaced are in stock with him. I'll hope for the best and again, appreciate your help.
