i have a question for someone

i have a question for someone please help ive got a 150 GT johnson motor that as long as you keep pumping up primer bulb it will stay running but if you dont keep pumping up bulb it will die after a while at idle but if your lucky enough to keep running and get it at high operating speeds it will keep running any suggestions please
