do all 1989 evinrude tracker

do all 1989 evinrude tracker motors have telltail ports at the bottom of the motor cover? if not how do you tell if the motor is being cooled?

" There should be a hose from the water jacket,on the port side of the motor, to the motor pan. It should actually extend out the stbd side of the pan about 2-3 inches. This is just an indicator. Your water pump should be serviced on a regular basis, depending on your use. "
 
THERE IS NO HOSE CONNECTED TO

THERE IS NO HOSE CONNECTED TO THE WATER JACKET. BUT THERE IS A HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE MOTOR PAN LOOKS LIKE WHERE THERE HAS BEEN A HOSE. WILL THIS CAUSE A PROBLEM IF THERE IS NO HOSE?

" There should be a 90 degree elbow on the water jacket, the hose should be connected to it and exit through the hole in the pan. It actually is shown in the service manual as routing over the top of the head. As stated before, this is an indicator and should have no affect on the operation of the cooling system, as far as I know. "
