1989 Evinrude GT 200

Is there a difference between an 'ordinary' 200 and a GT 200? I've been told that the carbs are different, making the GT 200 in fact 225 horse. Any truth to this?

Much of this has to do with the perceived gullible North American market place.---Has to do with the " my 200 is faster than yours "------------Has much to do with cosmetic styling / decals and such too !

So what you're saying is a GT 200 is a 200 hp with GT decals? Nothing else is different?

No I did not say that they are exactly the same , they are different.

The hoods are different, same final drive ratio..
