Hey guys, I have a 89 175xp and still have no spark at all after checking the stator( which is like brand new) a 1 1/2 old...just bought a power pack and put it on a few days ago. I also disconnect the kill switch from the pack and the ignition..the flywheel is good and the magnets are fine, even the center magnet was good, lets see what else... I took the timer base out and ohm the bottom middle connecters on each switch and had nothing on anything... The timer base looked wore on the outside and on the inside were some like timer markings for something, but the inside had some holes broke out in I guess the plastic part of it just below the brass ring and above the magnet in it. I dont know if this was from it getting to hot or wear or what? I am so pi*#ed off I cant see straight and dont have a clue what to do next!!! I am not a boat technician, but I have fixed my problems on this boat thus far but this is a real puzzle and I dont know, but I am thinking the timer base cause I cant think of anything else it could be. Could a boat being out of time cause it not to spark? The flywheel is even cranking fast enough also... I need a Sherlock Holmes for this one guys... I would really appreciate anyones suggestions...also, if anyone has a good used timer base for this motor please let me know or message me... Thanks guys.....
