"I have a 17' Arima Sea Ranger with the above engine. Engine runs strong, but won't last forever. Naturally I'm leaning towards a four stroke, but certainly have not ruled out an E-Tech. I'd like to know how much my present engine weighs so I can use that as a factor in deciding what to replace it with. Hope somebody has a good idea."

"Thanks a lot sparkey. Valuab

"Thanks a lot sparkey. Valuable information. I guess in order not to sacrifice performance, etc. I'm best off leaning to a replacement not too much heavier. That'll mean either a much lower horsepower 4 stroke or closer to the same horsepower in an E-Tech.

"Performance is a relative term.Top end speed, acceleration, fuel consumption , maintenance costs etc. Your present motor if taken care of will last a long time and is economical to rebuild.Disconnecting VRO and mixing 50:1 is a good step to take to make the motor last."

Who said old OMC's don&#39

Who said old OMC's don't last forever? You will be amazed at how many people are asking advice on their 1950's and 60's models on this site. I think it is all of the new-fangled gadgetry that causes all of the headaches.

"i rebuild mine 1989 evi 110 b

"i rebuild mine 1989 evi 110 bubbleback in 2002 and it runs like it wil run for another 15 years.
if you want to replace the v4 cf 110
i would look into e-tec or tohatsu LPDI also 2 stroke.
e-tec most expensive, Tohatsu cheapest.
but the 110 you had for 15 years will beat those prices.

good luck"
