Can anyone help me with some i

Can anyone help me with some info on a classic fifty. I do not have the serial number and the boat is 2 hours away but I know it is a 1989. I need to get a carb gasket kit as well as a fuel pump kit but I can't seem to find the model classic fifty in any online catalog. I want to make sure I order the correct parts.

Thanks

"John the term "classic&#3

"John the term "classic" is now used to describe the 50 horse 2 stroke Merc. There is a classic 50 and 90, two of the only (non-direct injected) 2 strokes still produced by Merc.

If you are sure it's an 89 model, then the serial number 0B396036 can be used for looking up parts. However, you may best be served by finding the actual serial. Merc had a habit of using a different carb on the same model year over year..."

It is the classic 50 4 cylinde

It is the classic 50 4 cylinder. I went to the lake on vacation and pulled the carbs to investigate the problem and found the float bowl baffle broken loose from the mounting position. Would this cause the motor to flood frequently? I reassembled minus the baffle and the flooding problem seems to have corrected. I could not get full power from the motor but as I was covering the boat to go home I notice the gas tank was imploding so I checked the vent screw and it was closed tight. I did not get to run the motor after this finding but I think it was unable to draw enough gas to run at full throttle due to the lack of venting. Thanks for the serial number I will check it out and see if the carbs for that number match mine.
