" I am having problems when I first get boat into water. The boat idles fine in neutral. It even revs up well. When I put it in gear/low speed it goes fine. Once I am past the "no wake" area, I give it more gas, and it dies. I 1.start - 2.then rev - 3.then put in gear for about 15 minutes, after that I can get the boat running and up to max speed. After that the boat will run fine the rest of the day. I am thinking it could be carb. Hoping it is not outdrive. Anyone? "

" definitely sounds like carb problems to me, posibly the auto choke, when you say the motor dies, does it stall completely or will it keep on going if you back the throttle off. doesnt sound like the sterndrive anyway. "

" I have a bayliner. Had the same thing. cheched the spark plugs, and they were way off. I reset them and it was fine. so check the gap on them first. "
