"Good Afternoon, I recently purchased a 1989 40HP Evinrude - model #E40ECE. The engine is equiped with an oil injection system. I took the boat out the first time a few days ago. The engine ran fine for a fifteen minutes and then a loud constant siren sounded from the romote control. According the the owners manuel this was a warning signal that the engine was overheating but the water discharge from the water pumt was constant and never stopped. When the siren sounded the engine ran very rough and almost stalled. I immediately shut it off and waited a few minutes. It did start up and ran at very low RPM,s. The next time I took it out the siren sounded again after a few minutes, ran very rough, and I shut it down. When I restarted it after a few minutes the siren sounded in short pulses of about three or four seconds and then stopped completely. The engine ran fine at lower RPM,s after I restarted it. I might add that the motor has not been used for over a year.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

also,ur immediate prob,is prob,overheat...inst a new wtr pump kit....
then,all the sensors--should be cked--
i would assume---that that order--should be done!"
