I've owned quite a few 60's-70's Gale/Evinrude/Johnson's but never anything this "new". I just wanted to make sure I got it right since I haven't been able to get a hold of a manual yet.
I recently got a '89 20hp pretty cheap Model No E20CRCEM. I've pieced together from other threads the proper procedure for the Link & Sync for this outboard and just want to be sure it's correct.
I've adjusted it so that when the linkage is in it's true "idle" position the cam roller is roughly 3/8" away from the first tick mark. When the throttle is advanced, right when the roller is in between both marks the butterfly valve in the carb begins to open. At maximum throttle, the butterfly valve is set to be dead level within the carb.
Does all of that seem correct? I've attached a picture below.
