1989 20 hp OMC Power Pack

The new power pack has 2 brown/yellow wires to connect to the charge coil. The book says to connect brown to brown, and brown/yellow to brown/yellow. The old power pack also had 2 brown/yellow wires. I'm waiting for the new charge coil to get here & wondering if it matters how I connect these 2 wires?
