Hello everyone. New to forum and new boat owner. Have a well taken care of 16ft fibreglass with Evinrude 90h vro. Been out a few times. Always starts and runs great from cold but after first stop out in lake it is difficult to restart. Have to start it with added throttle, some extra bulb primes, few stalls, some exaust smoke, then runs great again. So far I’ve replaced fuel line and primer bulb and spark plugs, working though the easy items. Vent on fuel tank seems functional but may switch out fuel tank next. Have only run 94 gas since I purchased. Feel like this is a few issue. Maybe carb blockage or junk? Don’t have compression values but can get them if it comes to that. Any troubleshooting advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cold start procedure consists of few primer bulb pumps, push key in for 5ish seconds to activate choke, usually starts after one or two turns

Key is to be pushed in AND held in while cranking it over.----Do yourself a favor and post actual compression values.-----Bad battery and starter can also make starting difficult.

Thanks. For warm starts no choke required right? Starts and turns over great when cold, so do t think it’s starter or battery
