1989 1990 Johnson 70hp Fuel Pump Hookup

I was re-installing the electric fuel pump in my Johnson 70 hp outboard and i can't figure out where the small port in the bottom rear goes to. There was broken hose piece and tywrap on the port, but i do not see a lose hoseanywhere. The engine number is: J70TLES B. There are a total of 4 ports on the fuel pump.

??? there was no electric fuel pump on a 70 HP Johnson outboard.----------Are you asking questions about the VRO ( automatic oil mixing unit ) that was standard equipment?.----Check the unit out , to me it sounds like the previous owner was mixing the oil himself and the VRO pump just pumps fuel and no longer functions as " automatic "

The unit, which i assume is a fuel pump, comes directly off the hose that the pump bulb is connected to. There are 3 wires in the connector. I assumed it was a electric fuel pump.

The wires are for the " no oil " warning circuit.-------------Make sure you understand whether this unit is in service as a mixing pump or if it is just pumping premixed fuel.

What you are saying makes a lot of sense. The owner died and his son-in-law had the boat sitting in a horse pasture for 3 years before giving it to me free. I just took the VRO apart and had to repair it and didn't notice the missing hose u ntil then. I also have another question, there is a hose comming from the bottom rear of the carbureator that I beleive attaches to the plastic cover the goes over the carbureator. Does that sound right? I assume it must be a vacuum hose. Thank you so much for your help. I have had this boat a year and just got it back together.

Assume nothing on your motor !----That is not a hose to supply vacuum to anything, it simply pulls any fuel leakage into the motor to prevent a fire hazard.
