1989 15hp johnson...how to connect remote throttle

Hi...new user here...I would appreciate any info on how to connect remote throttle cable ....on 1989 15hp Johnson ..cannot find out how to remove tiller throttle cable....thanks

To remove the tiller cable take the plate off that holds the adjustment nut. Then slide the clip back where it connects to the throttle arm. Now take the tiller off and the cable and everything will come out. You need the parts to hold the remote throttle cable in place #38 in the diagram. If you are going to do the shifting also I would call a dealer or look on this site for the conversion kit. The shifting cable needs a special adaptor and bracket.
