"my float housings are warped so that bowl gasket will not seal.is there a fix for these plastic housings,or just replacement. also would these leaky gaskets cause a rich fuel mixture."

depending on how its warped yo

depending on how its warped your needle may not be sealing and causing it to flood...besides being a fire hazard and wasting gas.

looks like just the bowl is about $35 and the kit is about $72

have you laid the bowl on a piece of glass to make sure wether or not its warped?

A piece of emery on a glass plate and you may be able to refinish them.I do not think the warp has any thing to do with the float valve sealing.It is common for these to warp and the screws need not be tightened to more than 10 inch-lbs.

i would try ikias idea about resurfacing after all you have nothing to lose if you cannot fix the warp youll have to replace them anyway.

look around the top of the motor for a plug about the size of a quater and post the #s----it should be the model #

"Ill give the emry cloth and glass a try. the plug # is rph 0432163. my title says 1990 xp150 but after looking at brp.com my carb jets power pack #,timer base # tells me it might be 1989 e150stlcem.this model is the only one with .35 idle jets witch mine has. none of the 1990 models have that size idle jet."

thats why i was thinking maybe

thats why i was thinking maybe the float wasnt sealing the needle.....i dont know how its set up or if its close enough but if it is maybe the motor is sucking the gasket in and interfereing with the float
