"First time out today. Engine

"First time out today. Engine would idle fine but as soon as I put it in gear, the steady warning horn would come on. Put back in neutral and it would stop. Help!!!"
 
"Mike.... If you're using

"Mike.... If you're using the standard OMC white control box, that problem is caused by the inner disk portion of the throttle/shift control handle rubbing up against and grounding out the TAN wire terminal of the warning horn.

The cure is to turn the horn slightly to move that terminal out of the way."
