" Thanks Joe,
The plugs you recommended were fine.
2 additional questions if you don't mind.
1- One motor sneezes/spits at idle. Old gas and last years water separators. I'm running some OMC engine/fuel system cleaner through the fuel and then will change the filters and start on new gas. I read in my OMC manual that I may have a lean condition? Should I wait and see what happens until I fill up?
2- Same motor that sneezes caught a giant leaf bag over the weekend. Revs went to 4000 for a second and the water flow stopped. Shut her down and dragged her home. I figure the the bag froze the prop? I took the prop off and cleaned that up, nothing went into the rear of the prop etc. and it ran fine. Any worries?
Thanks

"Chap.... Remove the carbureto

"Chap.... Remove the carburetor face plate, run the engine (flushette is okay). With the condition existing (sneezing, spitting back, whatever), one carb at a time, stick two fingers into the carb throat.

If a carb is running lean due to a clogged jet (whatever), when you stick those two fingers into that carb throat, the engine will smooth out somewhat. That pinpoints the problem carb which will require cleaning.

Not a good idea to run a engine with a lean condition on a steady basis. It will result in piston damage.

The engine that caught the leaf bag... if it runs and shifts okay, I wouldn't be concerned about it. That sort of thing happens quite often.

The leave bag was a bit hairy. I have only run inboards in the past, Shamrock.
I'll see what the carbs tell me.
