1988 Mariner 40hp - What is this part ?

Bought this 1988 Tracker-Pro 17 with orginal Mariner 40hp last year and I'm slowly (item by item) bringing it back up to original condition. Now I'm looking at the dashboard and I found this part just screwed to a wall just inside the dash next to the back of the gauge panel and there doesn't seem to be anything under there with a mating plug for it. I've been working on getting all the gauges operational and here is where I am right now:

Volt Meter: Operational
Tach: Operational
PSI: working on that one now
Lights: all operational
Live Well Pump: haven't gotten there yet
Bilge Pump: Operational
In Dash Dept Finder: NOT operational yet

So here is the part.... what could it be for?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Livewell timer maybe?

Hmmmm, could be. I haven't gotten to the livewell yet but I do know that there is a switch that is apparently up/off/down for 'timed', 'off', 'on' for the pump but it's been dissasembled as had most of the dash by previous owner(s). I'll check it out tomorrow & let you know what I find.
Thanks!!
