1988 johnson gt 150 with wrong throttle control box

I bought a used boat at a great price that came without the johnson throttle control box. It has some other brand. Any Johnson I have owned before sounded an alarm when you first turn the key, this one does not. My question is , do I need a johnson control box for alarms, or does engine have alarm or safety measures on it? Or could I install an alarm system in the control box on it

I have a 1988 150 Johnson with a Morse control box and the motor has the overheat and low/no fuel alarms no problems for over 10 years.
