1988 johnson 88spl

I have a 88spl that wont idle without using primer switch. I,ve made all the usual checks, spark, compression, cleaned carbs. Think this could be fuel pump problem? Any help would be helpful. Thanks

i'd say ur idle areas in carbs might be causing this---its for sure a lack of ful,but unless u have to use the primer bulb to keep running,at this point,fuel pump is not causing ur idle problem...u may also have an air leak somewhere,...carb gaskets,or lack of,or damaged,etc.
