1988 Johnson 150 GT lower unit swap..

My friend's lower unit went out yesterday on his 1988 150GT.. He has a 1991 150 Fast Strike parts motor in the garage. Will the lower unit from the Fast Strike work on the GT150? They look the same, but I'd like to know ahead of time before we attempt this swap. Thanks..
