I have a 1988 force 125 on a bayliner 2103. It currently has a 30 inch shaft. Serial number is 1253X8AC. Can anyone tell me what shaft came on it originally. I don't think the current one is correct.

Re: 1988 Force 125

They didn't make a 30 inch shaft.It 's probably a 25in.They made a 20 and 25.Why do U think yours is too long?
Post a couple of pics of the transom and cavitation plate.J

Re: 1988 Force 125

back of boat.jpgI remeasured using the image you posted. It was 25. I got 30 by measuring from right below the cowling to the top of the cavitation plate.

I have that same boat with twin 85/s.Actuall the second one I've owned. The first the transom rotted out and the gas tank leaked. That looks like the original motor.J

Re: 1988 Force 125

I have not had the boat but about 6 months. I really like, but need to do some work on it. It is a very solid boat. I am going to put a motor on it now, and some other stuff later in the spring. Are parts for the boat easy to come by? I would like to rewire the helm including the ignition switch and a new switch panel.

Picture 006.jpgPicture 005.jpgThe parts are still available.I even heard there are new motors available.
Bayliner might have some of the original parts.I reworked my other boat and made a bunch of stuff out of teak.
