I’m new to boats and got an Evinrude 25hp motor on the boat given to me. I got a carb kit and cleaned the carb, changed the water pump and spark plugs about a year ago when I got the boat. Took it out on the water and noticed it had trouble staying in idle but when going forward or backwards it had no problems and ran fine. I made sure to run it dry and not leave any gas in the lines. I let it sit for a year and got it running again and noticed it’s doing the same thing as before. I have to have full throttle and even still it will die when at idle but run fine in gear. Saw online it could be problems with fuel filter or clogged fuel lines or an idle adjustment on the carb and Iam looking for advise on where to start on fixing this issue. Thank you.
