this is a handed down boat and

this is a handed down boat and it ran great several years ago and was stored for 4 to 5 years took it out last year and had no power put new cdi box in went good for half the day and then lost power again any ideas have another box but dont want to try again without further info

Replacing parts at random is an expensive way to troubleshoot. The replacement of the CDI could have been coincidental with a clog moving in the carb (for half a day).

Start with the basics and rule things out before you open your wallet for any parts...."

I tore a 1988 50hp force motor down on the bottom of the plate that seals the power head to the base the water tube goes in . how does this attach to the bsae and to the low foot part

"Michael, it kinda just sticks in. on the lower end there is a guide tube that the water tube goes in. At the top, there is a couple of rubber (washers) where the tube goes into the exhaust plate. There is no adhesive etc. When everything is bolted back up properly, there is no way for the tube to come out at either end..."
