"i hope some one can shed some light for me on replacing my fuel pump.i used the oem # for original replacement.and found sierra #18-7282 as the the correct replacement.i have both original and new pump side by side,the "paddle"is straight on old pump,slightly bent on new one.1st question,will this work as is?(they measure same length)if not can paddles be switched?the box with new pump has all the right numbers from mercruiser.any help would be appreciated...thanks"

It should work since the #s ar

It should work since the #s are the same and the pump arm is the same length but a little different. Changes in pump designs are made over the years. The new one you have is most likely the latest design.
