1988 30hp johnson electric start?

I am just learning about outboards and am wondering how hard it would be to wire this outboard into a johnson remote ie key start is it possible or am I in for a hassle? appreciate any input thanks.

I'm new to outboards as well and I'm in the process of doing the same thing to my '89 25HP. Can't offer much help 'cause I'm in the same boat your in. I have another locked electric start engine for parts & I've swapped out all the mounting brackets for the starter & the flywheel and that wasn't to much trouble. Now for wiring it up I need help too. I need a schematic to go off of but don't know where to start looking for one. I'll be watching this thread for any help.

it's dead simple, but you'll spend double or triple what your motor is worth buying the stuff.

can buy a parts motor like Johnny, or sell what you have and buy what you need.

Just to clarify...is your motor already electric start & you're asking about how to wire it to an ignition switch?
