"Okay boater buddies on a budget. PPPPPPPPlllllllllleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaasssssssse help. We bought the boat maybe 2 months ago, we ran her. She overheated. We bought the whole impeller kit. Then had problems with the shift cable, thinking it was the shift rod, followed Stuart Hastings on recommendations, by the way, thank you for that. Got the shift cable in. All is well there, but, we do not get water to the engine. Took of the hose from the t-stat, to the transom. tried again, nothinn. Took off the impeller housing, inspected the drive shaft, turned key, drive shaft fine, impeller perfect, replaced and still no water getting up top. We just can't figure it out. We back flushed water comes out. My question is this, I found on another site, the water routing, through the outdrive up to the engine etc., but could there be more blockagge somewhere between the the outdrive and the transom? Any info would be greeeeeeeeeattttttttttttttly Appreciated."

"do you have the flushing adapter covering ALL the holes on both sides of the LU?

BTW - this is your third post on the same topic. As I mentioned before, it's hard to follow when you start new threads. I recommend one post per issue and use the reply feature for updates."

"You know I don't have a flushing adapter, what is it if you don't mind my asking? And I do realize that this was my third post on the same subject, I guess that just means I am very frustrated about this. So please accept my apologies and I will use the reply featur."

Looking at your post I realize

Looking at your post I realize that you are talking about the earmuffs.....At least I think that is what you meant..... Those are fine to because we use them to test my Daughters boat and works fine..........

"ok, muffs=flushing adapter.

"ok, muffs=flushing adapter. I've had a problem with muffs once - discovering that one side of the muff was not completely covering the intake holes and the water just went from one side to the other.

The LU pump is not in play when the boat is going fast enough to essentially allow the water to enter the holes on either side of the LU and get sucked up into the engine - just from the pressure generated by moving forward. So, if you have enough water coming through the hose and both sides of the LU are completely covered by the muffs, it seems to me that water ought to find its way to the t-stat hose.

If you put water down the hose (ie. backwards) do you see water coming out of the LU?"

"Absolutely Yes, this is the puzzle, we feel like we are jinxed.......This is such a nice looking fishing boat too.......Even with all the problems we still don't want to give up."

"We were told that we should see water in that hose by the thermostate immediatly, this by a gentleman who is a boat mechanic and he is also stumped........I thought maybe there wasn't enough force also, but I have been told this is not the case."
