1987 Mariner 45 running rough

My 87 4 cylinder 45 horse moto

My 87 4 cylinder 45 horse motor runs rough at idle and while running in gear. Changed fuel line and bulb changed plugs removed auto blend and mixed premium fuel with oil at 50 to 1. Still runs rough any ideas?

1. Warm the motor thoroughly

2. Tie the boat to a dock so it can't move

3. Put it in gear at the lowest speed it will stay running

4. Take one carb at a time and adjust it SLOWLY, waiting 10 seconds after each tweak, for the best idle

5. DO the other carb the same way.

I noticed where you said you adjusted the carbs "evenly"--that is wrong. Each has a different "personality" and needs a different adjustment.

"I worded that wrong. what I meant to say was smooth not even. I went by what was said in my seloc manual adjust so the engine runs smooth. The only thing that I did different was I did it a home with the ears not on the lake in gear. I will adjust it at the lake, the right way, thanks much."
