I have a johnson 150hp with a

I have a johnson 150hp with a dual battery setup. The bateries need to be replaced and I am cosidering going to a larger capacity dual purpose battery with more reserve capacity for use when the motor is not runing. My question is will the larger batteries put too much load on the charging system. thanks steve

Oh one other thing I am considering moving the batteries about 2/3 up towards the bow to possibly help in planning out easier.Is this agood idea or will they take more pounding in that location? thanks again steve

"Steve.... Regardless of the capacity, the batteries are still 12 volt batteries. This will not have any adverse effect of the charging system or the engine is general.

The further forward the batteries are placed, the greater pounding they would be subject to. What effect this would have on the batteries is a judgement call you'll need to make.
