"I need of a little help in on this one , please. It's a friends motor (60ELCUC)so I'm getting the story second hand. Motor had been running fine - went out Saturday and battery ran down, would not crank or start. Got home after a $500 tow from Lake St.Clair. Charger was put on the battery- cranks now but no spark. I checked the rectifier and it's bad, we will replace this. But I don't know how to check the electronic modual. Would a bad rectifier cause no spark? I suspect, but can't verify that reverse polarity when recharging the battery did a bunch of damage, is this possible?
