motor has good water discharge

motor has good water discharge at first butafter a short time of hard running the discharge slows to a tricle and the engine over heats. I changed the waterpump twice and blew out all of the lines with compressed air. A compression test turned out good. Does anybody have any ideas?

Could be head gasket issues...

Could be head gasket issues.....outboards have a huge range of thermal movement when warming up.

Have you done a comp test while it is overheated and compared with warm and cold test results?

"N i haven't but i will give it a try. To give you a more specific explanation of whats going on, after the first time the motor overheated i replaced the impellar and I ran the motor real hard for about 3 hours before it overheated. I once again replaced the impellar, which looked brand new, and ran it real hard again. This time the motor ran good, and it had good discharge for about 15 minutes before the discharge went to a trickle and the engine over heated. Do you still think it could be a head gasket?"

I gave the motor acompression

I gave the motor acompression test under both hot and cold conditions and the were both the same. I am using "Clymer" Suzuki outboardshop manual and there is no mention of t-stats or poppet valves. Is there any easy way for me to find these so I can check them ?

"Is a t-stat a thermostat? I

"Is a t-stat a thermostat? I looked in brownspoint, com and did a search for poppet and nothing came up. Is there another way to find out what a poppet is and where its at?"
