Please help me. I got a 1987 9.9hp Mer that has no spark. Everything looks pretty clean and new.
Please help me diagnose to find the issue. I am a rookie at it and would like to replace the bad part but do not know where to begin. I suspect that the kill switch (on/off) or the starting button switch has issue, but not sure how to test it. Please help me with advice.

Look for a black wire with a y

Look for a black wire with a yellow tracer at the spark box. Disconnect it wher it goes to sdomething other than under the flywheel and test for spark.
