Ok , new used motor to me, last fall got a 1987 48 SPL(j48eslcus) its on a 15' cobia bow rider tri hull, very light hull (project boat - cap rail, console and bow seats removed, now has ply wood deck, bench seat and small center steering console, 12 gallons gas, 2 batt.) prop is 12 1/4 X 15 alum. at max throttle I'm turning 5900 - 6000 according to digital Tiny Tach just installed. pulled throttle back quickly when I saw those numbers but believe thats right because at 42-4300 the gps says i'm only at 16-17 kts, seems a bit slow for that rpm but that would be true if prop is to small. sooo looking for something bigger, maybe 12.5 or 12.75 X 17 or 19. just looking for suggestion's. thanks
