1987 115hp v-4 johnson ( think i need carb work ?? )

hello, i have owned this 1984 17' glasstream bass boat since 1996, it was freshly rebuilt when purchased, from 1996 to current my 1987 boat motor that on it has had what i think to be carb issues,
it'll crank perfect every time, but when slow trolling the motor idles drops so low that i have to keep my hand on push choke key to keep the idle up on it , he boat runs fine at 1/2 to wide open throttle, but when returning from high speeds to a slow idle, it loses it rpms and tries to go dead, thats when i tinker with the choke to keep it running, i had to carbs looked at by my local boat shop but he said it looked to be fine, he does not run them on the lake to try , just a drum of water.,
i'm the only one that can drive my boat due to i know its characteristics .

what should i do?
if the carbs need to be rebuilt, please send me #'s to order

i have replaced plugs, plug wires, and always run premium 93 octane fuel, with stabil marine
 
compression tests shows 113, 112,113,110 its been this same way for years

and were do i look for the model # to get correct motor year?
 
So , the cylinder condition is good !---------Now check that you have spark on each cylinder that will jump a gap of 7/16" and with a snap that you can hear !-------If that is good look for fuel issues such as fuel pump / carburetor / throttle synchronization / crankcase compression / reed valves / leaking fittings .-----------------Is this motor running with the VRO as a fuel pump only or hooked up for automatic mixing.----------------Post picture of motor cowling , that will get the year to order part as these motors were common for many years.

what year is the motor, and what carb kits will i need to try to fix it?? And what every else i will need in the build? thanks

Motor is a 1985 based on the graphics of the cover.-------------Very little goes wrong in the carburetors.----------------------Go to --------------shop.evinrude.com -------------for all the parts you would need.---------------------Or at the top of this page where it says --------------motor parts.

i put in the model # in the parts area and it came back to a 1984 year,
and will i'm chatting with you , the voltage has never charged on the motor since i've owned it, whats a coomon place to look on motor to find problem?
i printed out a picture of all the electrics and , thought you may know right off and what to look for in finding problem with it
 
this boat motor is a awesome motor and has given me more than enough years of pleasure, i'd just like to get her 100% again
 
Test windings on the stator ( battery charging part of the stator ) ----------if that is good replace rectifier / voltage regulator.

what Rpm's are safe for this particle model?
i'm running a 17 pitch prop for tubing and a 21 pitch for river running
