1986 Mallory distributor YL670AU

I need to replace this distributor with an electronic one but do not know witch one will work. I am told a dist out of a 1979 chevy 350 might work..i would like to buy a new one

The automotive distributor is not only illegal, but the advance curve is incorrect for Marine use.


The Mallory YL's were contact point triggering.




For a Std LH rotation engine:

If you want a magnetic triggering by Mallory, the YLM624AV would be a good choice.
For Photo-eye triggering by Mallory, the YLU624AV will work.

Pretty much anything that will fit a standard deck GM V-8 will work...like Rick said, go with a MARINE rated replacement.

I replaced my original Mallory's with DAVIS DUI "MARINE" distributers and wires, and all I can say is Wow, easy to do and runs like never before!

I replaced my old point distributors with the Mallory magnetic. Direct replacement with now wire modification too.
