1986 johnson 90

I have a 1986 90 johnson. Last year I broke my controll box I have been through 4 used ones and am still having the same problem. I plug my red plug and trim plug up and nothing works. I can jump the starter and it will spin so I know I'm getting power to my motor.

Sometimes the pins inside the red plug can get pushed back out of place so that they are not making a good connection.

I will check today and see if that is the problem. But would the red plug not getting a good connection also make my trim not work?

Do some real trouble shooting.-----Checked the fuse ??

I changed a 15 amp fuel coming from my red plug and all my connections are good still no power to my trim or starter from the box.

Should be a 20 amp fuse in the harness.
