1986 Evinrude CE50TLCDE timing settings

Hello all
What is the correct idle and full throttle timing settings on my engine… Google say 28deg BTDC on idle but that can’t be correct…
Help please
 
Facts.-----Timing rarely goes out of adjustment.---Only if it is tampered with.-----You set MAXIMUM timing advance.---You check that throttle plates OPEN at the correct time.----Actual idle timing looks after itself.----So what is your motor doing / not doing that leads you to timing?
 
Back firing at idle… it starts and runs fine for the first 30sec or so but then starts back firing.
I don’t know what else it can be but timing: there must be a base timing setting.?
This is a new motor to me, I have know idea what’s been touched.
I’ve checked:
Seals, cracks, reed valves, hoses, carbs, TDC setting,
Ohms tested:
Trigger sensor @ 42 but swapped any, charge coil @ 569, both within spec.
I’ve changed:
Plugs, plug wires, coils, cdi, trigger sensor.
I’m just thinking back and believe my original idle timing was at 12btdc… I think your base timing should be around 4deg atdc and 28deg btdc full throttle….
Is that correct.?
 
Make sure both carburetors are closed at idle.----And that they start to OPEN at about 4 degrees.----Timing at smooth idle does NOT matter.
