"I would like to remove the cylinder head on this motor so I can attach the cover latch bolt assembly properly, as it is very difficult to attach since I replaced the thermostat,gasket and thermostat cover. Do I need more than a new head gasket to complete this job. Thanks Paul"

"All that's needed would be the head gasket BUT it is no problem to install the hood latch assembly with the head installed.

Stare at it for awhile, no need to remove the head.
