I suspect my high speed stator
I suspect my high speed stator on my 86 Mariner L6 90hp is bad. Has anyone had this fail and is so what were the symptoms? My sympton are the engine wont get about about 2400rmps in gear in the water. In neutral it will get over 2400 but cuts out really bad once over 2400rpms or so. Before this happened when I would run up to WOT it surged from around 2500- 4500 rpms. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
