1986 40hp VRO Evinrude

I have a 40 hp with a VRO. it will start fine, run fine for about an hour and then dies and not restart until the next day. it is pumping water has a new battery and new gas and oil. I am thinking it might be electrical but not sure. the motor was gone through a couple of years ago. i have not had anyone look at it yet just some suggestions, like change the fuel line, done, new fuel tank, done, using sea foam in every tank so i do not think its fuel related.
