Hi Guys,
I have a 1986 4.3 that i cant get started. Starter was not always catching last season so decided to change it. Installed the new starter put in charged batteries that are old. The batteries show 12.4 volts. The starter will not turn I am showing only 8 volts when cranking at the slave solenoid. I put an amp meter on the batteries when cranking and it shows nothing. Trim, blower and all the other things seem ok. Also turned engine over by hand and it feel free. Do you think I need two new batteries? Thanks for any help given.
