1985 Sea Drive

I finally tracked down my mystery powerhead. I found out that it is from a 1985 1.6 l Sea Drive. What the heck is a Sea Drive?? Did these come in different horsepowers, and how can you tell which one is which?? The powerhead is a used unit, that is presently mounted on a 1983 115 hp lower unit.

The term " Sea Drive " was used by OMC for their outboards on a " special bracket ".--------The idea was to replace an inboard outboard with an outboard type unit.----The bracket allowed for the complete motor to be tilted clear of the water.----the idea was to give more room in the boat.---The idea was to allow for quick replacement of the unit.------------Target market was salt water areas.-----Find all the bits / pieces on the ----Crowley Marine -------pages.
 
Thanks Racer. Pretty strange looking outfit, from what I have read it didn't work too well, and was prone to flooding. I can't find a hp rating for them, just a 1.6 litre displacement. BUT, on the carbs from this powerhead they have stamped "115 hp". So, I know what year it is, and what hp now.
