Good day all

Had the boat out last weekend ran great But the temp went up to 180 F and stayed there. Is that to hot or is it ok. As for the RMP flat out not trimed it was running about 4200 - 4300 RPM. Is that ok. It went like a cut cat and sounded great. Dose this sound right or to hot or to high of RPM.

Thanks

I'd prefer to see 165-175, but those temp senders/gauges aren't all that accurate. I might check the t-stat if it is an unknown.
RPM fine.

Your recommended rpm range is 4200-4600. If your running in that range your ok.

180 is ok if it ever creeps up to 190 and above it's time for a new elbow riser and or new t-stat.

The guy's i know who run a t-stat in saltwater change them every year.

Does it go down at slower speeds? Like hystat said the guage or sender could be off. It's an 85 how old is the riser/manifold? Way past a change.
