My 85 Merc only runs on 3 cylinders.
When I have all the spark plugs hooked up and I pull the plug for cylinder 2 the motor does not bog down and keeps running fine. If I pull the wire for cylinder 1 the motor will cut out.
Where it gets weird if I take out the spark plug for cylinder 1 and ground it the motor will start. Then if I pull the wire for cylinder 2 the motor will cut off.
So the motor only cuts off when I pull cylinder 2 if cylinder 1 is not screwed in the block. I do get spark on both when cranking and while running. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks
