1985 mercury 35hp

i have a 1985 mercury 35 hp that is not getting spark i test every thing and the ohams of the stator are are with in the range iam get power out of the cdi back to the coil but only like 96 volts
the motor has not been ran sence 2002 i put a new water pump in it ant every thing it ran fine the other day but when i went to go to start it today it statred for a sec and that was it what do yall think it could be any info will help

Ohm the trigger coil.

i ohmed that to and its with in its range also

Find the black/ yellow tracer (or orange--they used both color codes) wire and disconnect it at the switch box. If you now have spark, follow that wire to the tilt switch and eliminate it--they only cause trouble. If that doesn't do it, you have a short to ground in the remote control circuit.
